Taking care of my body

More of a personal diary post lol.

If you know me, you know that I have eating problems. I wasn't a very picky eater and I ate in normal portions, until January 2017. Sigh :( After I started staying in dorms, my eating habits were still quite "normal" in late 2016. My meal times on campus were earlier than what I'm used to because everyone ate after class. I was having dinner at 5pm at uni compared to 7pm to 8pm when I'm at home. At that time, my meal times (albeit early) were regular.

Time skip to weeks before finals. I stopped eating with friends and since I hate eating alone outside, I stayed in my room instead. There was a time where I only ate bread and biscuits for the entire day :/ that's probably the reason why I got sick after that. 不定时吃,又不吃正餐。不生病才怪。

After recovering from that whole ordeal, it took me months to finally feel comfortable with eating actually. During the months after being sick, I always prayed for the ability to keep my food down and prayed that I won't vomit before eating. It became sort of a trauma? My eating portions became so small and I became a bit more of a picky eater :( I continued being sick with eating issues on and off up until now.

Also, I got a new issue that sometimes suddenly arise. I cannot overeat. I must not. When I overeat (or when I sometimes 反胃), I enter this panic/freak out mode hahah some of you witnessed it before. You cannot mention anything about food, drinking or vomiting when I'm freaking out. Just hearing the words will trigger me and make me feel even sicker. Just give me a moment to calm down and I'll (hopefully) be fine. This usually happens when I forget that I'm full already and continue eating hahah seriously.


This week, I've been trying to form a healthier relationship with food. Actually, I'm trying to be healthy and take care of my body in general. Really neglected taking care of myself all these time haih. Adjusted my lifestyle by paying attention to a few habits:

(1) Drinking more water
Tried to bring the 喝多多水 habit from having dengue fever into my daily routine. 现在每天平均喝3至4瓶水 (2250ml~3000ml). I think this helped me a lot. We're made up of mostly water so staying hydrated is, of course, good. More water helped my digestive system and bowel movement HAHA also, I need to pee like every hour now lol.

(2) Sleeping earlier
Slept at 12am to 1am+ for the whole week. 总之, made sure to sleep before 2am. I even gave up gaming for this TT but I'm definitely more awake in class (still sleepy in some of them cuz BORING ok hahaha)

(3) Exercise
Like FINALLYYYY. I haven't been to the gym in months HA. I'm only going once a week because I'm still a lazy worm hahah I'm so unfit that getting to the gym is a workout TT (gym is at the third floor)

(4) Being mindful of eating
Made sure to eat on time and was aware of my eating habits hoho. This time, I took slightly bigger portions during lunch and dinner. 因为之前每次拿很少饭很少菜,吃完后不够饱会吃饼干。So, it was like I'm replacing 正餐 with biscuits :/ I think this solution worked for me. Depending lesser on biscuits to become full. 总之,就是很 mindful of what, when and how much I'm eating.


Also!! I've been watching a few mukbang youtubers that help my appetite and make me excited for food :b I like to watch their videos while I eat heh but ofc I watch them even when I'm not eating :目

Kinoshita Yuka: I've been watching her videos for almost two years now. She's so happy when she eats TvT my mukbang queeeeen! she's my goal, to be as happy as her when I eat hahah


나도Nado: the food she eats is pretty and looks great hahah and she's cute toooo!


꿀키honeykki: I love her # What I eat in a day videos!! So aesthetic and informative. She makes recipe videos too and she inspires me to cook (and I hate cooking ehh) TvT



Honestly, these habits are really basic but I just haven't been doing them until this week. Hopefully these habit change lasts lol. Keep telling myself that "you must take care of the healthy body God blessed you with, don't destroy it." Mom's words also pop up in my head "不要拿生命来换娱乐".

Miscellaneous life update

Now is probably not a very good time to update blog as I have mountains of things waiting for me to do (haih) but this is what it means to be the procrastination queen, right? hahah also, since we've already stepped into the second half of 2018, I guess I should wrap things up. (ikr where did jan~june even go?????)

1. Most Delicate Cake
Throwback all the way to April when QL and I ate this bomb-ass strawberry cake. It literally is the cake emoji 🍰 it's imported straight from Japan and yoooooo I love it. It's a very Japanese cake hahah it's sweet, but you won't get sick of it. Hella expensive tho, RM16 for a piece hah. (def would buy again tho because it's yummmm) Cake shop: Chateraise, Midvalley.

2. April babies' birthdays
Celebration with Kapz at Nando's hoho (AC is not in this photo) 巧遇 the Pang family and they gave us some vouchers lol I still owe yuanai money from this event HAHA I think we went for some black ice after this?

 3. PUBG craze
There was a pubg craze around late April and early May, and I was officially addicted on May 7th HAHAHA which is also the day we met Jayewu. This led to weeks of playing together until dawn lol it's actually kinda amazing how we're all friends at this point. 진짜 신기해 hahah #2months since we all met but it feels a lot longer than it is :o


4. Owl's Cafe
A kapz dinner just because. The three waffle desserts have weird names hahah if I remember correctly: Rebecca, David and I forgot the last one. We shared 3 waffles among like ten people hahahaha

5. Ichiyutei Udon @ Lot10
A real Japanese udon shop that sells handmade udon. This is probably the only udon I like. (yes, I don't really like udon.) Ql and I come here quite often after our Japanese class on Saturdays hahaha continuing the にほんvibe yas.

6. Short hair like finally
After mentioning it like 10 times, I finally went for the cut! 剪头发就是冲动的时候剪的 hoho got my cut at 1902 salon @ mahkota. 不错下, I think can trust their cutting skills hahah I told the hairstylist to just cut it short, to the max short. Looking back now, it really was too short HAHA I think my current grown-out hair length looks better heh (it looks fine in the 2nd photo because uh helloooo I'm good at capturing my own angles HAHAHA)

 
7. Wizards at Tribeca
An impromptu 9pm dinner after BB in June. The food is nice and the price was pretty okay too! #wouldcomeback hahaha honestly, the workers were probably really annoyed at us because it was past their working hours already but we still 慢慢吃 ooops sorry for being THAT customer hah

8. Dengue fever
No photos of dengue so here's a pic of the sky that I thought looked like pubg sky hahah. I just recently recovered from dengue, like 2 days ago. Because of dengue, skipped class for a whole week. But I didn't even accomplish anything while I was at home. 没有画画,没有edit video,没有update blog, 连戏都没有追 HAIH. I had so much time on my hands but I didn't have mood AT ALL. Absolutely zero. 每天就一直看 pointless youtube videos, waiting for the day to be over hahah 够惨。Really thank God that my condition wasn't very serious TT 健康真的真的是祝福。
